Magdalene / Art and wellness retreat
​Deliverables: Full Branding complete with logo suite, iconography, color palette, typography & business card design.
Inspired by the legend of Mary Magdalene, who has long ​been symbolized as the divine feminine. I was particularly excited to create this branding, because I am obsessed with the Da Vinci code, which is all about the lost legend of Mary Magdalene and the celebration of femininity being erased from the radicalized forms of christianity.

Mary Magdalene is often depicted holding both a (red) egg and a chalice, both are thought to symbolize fertility. This is why I chose to position her hands in a similar shape to a chalice, which are cradling a red egg. She is also typically shown with long red hair, which i included in the logo badge.
In order to create a cohesive branding package, I borrowed the eye lashes from the logo badge, and flipped them to create a crown for the wordmark and icon. These are not just images to tie these elements together, but they also have meaning. The eyelashes symbolize feminitiy, and the crown symbolizes royalty, both adjectives synonymous with the legend of Mary Magdalene.
