The Grand Porter

comprehensive brand identity for The Grand Porter, The cafe’s name not only reflects its location at W. Grand Blvd and Porter St., but also references rail travel due to the proximity of Michigan Central, as well as  a nod to kitchen porters, highlighting the fact that a quality restaurant can not function without the people whose jobs have not been romanticized . The visual system translates these ideas into a cohesive brand language, with custom illustrations and patterns blending symbolism of food, transportation, and Detroit heritage across environmental graphics, signage, web, and print to create a unified brand experience.
